Homemade burger

המבורגר ביתי

Everyone knows that the hamburger is one of the favorite foods of the world. The problem is that most people eat their hamburgers outside, without knowing what quality the meat is and what else they put inside. Due to the fact that hamburgers are made from minced meat, it is very important to take care when making the burgers. It's so simple and easy to prepare. True, a good juicy burger is prepared with fine minced lamb or entrecote - but these are not always available. Here you have a recipe for a hamburger you can make with regular ground meat you buy at the supermarket and usually would have at home.

Noodles and meat pie – meat Kugel

פשטידת אטריות ובשר

Okay, so this is not a crazy hot Kugel – it is instead the sweet seller in synagogues on shabbat. But noodles and meat pie is almost like little noodle cakes with meat. It is really delicious - and a little spicy. Do we really need anything else in life?

Kebab – BBQ

קבב עם טחינה

If made properly – at home – with the right ingredients and attention, then kebabs should and will come with the second most compliments at any meal(second to steak of course!). Here's a recipe for homemade kebab that might even catch first place! (Ok, probably not, but it will definitely put up a good fight!) Of course you can also prepare it in a pan on the grill - but there's nothing like straight up barbecued kebab!

Stuffed Vegetables

ממולאים

Stuffed vegetables are delicious, nutritious, and very easy to make. Basically you can stuff almost any vegetable or fruit, here I will give the classic fillings for vegetables, but the technique is similar to any vegetable. Do not be afraid from the length of the recipe - it's because there are several types of fillings, but the preparation and cooking are so easy, it’s not clear enough why we don’t prepare stuffed vegetables every week!

Empanadas

Proper Argentinean food, starting with Assado and many excellent meats and excellent sauces such as chimichurri sauce to equally excellent pastries stuffed with meat course. Empanadas are actually the Argentine interpretation of burekas which means a lot of great meat stuffed in a lot of pastry pockets! Original Empanadas tend to include raisins, hard-boiled eggs and all sorts of treats. For this recipe I tried to adjust the Empanadas to fir the Israeli taste, who are known to not really like mixing flavors so raisins and eggs were left out. The result is still excellent!

“Mafrum” – potatoes stuffed with minced meat

This is my version of “mafrum” - which is basically potato stuffed with minced meat. Instead of placing meat between two slices of potato - I just emptied out the potatoes and filled them with the stuffing of spiced minced meat and close them up again – so in fact we have a whole potato stuffed with meat – 1 serving per person (Serve two potatoes each). Oh and no eggplant, but the result is great and rest assured everyone will be licking their plates.

Meatballs in the oven with garlic and honey

כדורי בשר ברוטב שום ודבש

What's more fun than meatballs? Meatballs in the oven with garlic and honey! Although cooking in the oven means no sauce, the meatballs retain their juiciness and softness because of the red pepper and onion that release liquid during baking, and of course – mixing the dish at the end in a great thick sauce, sweet and rich. The recipe is made without the addition of oil. This recipe contains the use of Worcester sauce - you can get it at any normal 7/11. It is recommended to have at any event. For those who do not have that sauce – they should take two teaspoons of honey, a little salt, a pinch of chili, and a few drops of lemon. Anyway, with real sauce your dish will always be tastier!

“Joz’joze” – rolls stuffed with meat

לחמניות ממולאות בשר - גוז'גז'ה

This “Joz’joze” is a traditional Bukhari dish which is actually a roll stuffed with meat. Serve it on special occasions, holidays and shabbos. The original recipe is actually stuffed with lamb or mutton fat. I mixed some of the ingredients and the result, in my opinion (and of those who tasted), is just as good, if not better. Preparation is not difficult at all - but it does take time.
